A beach wedding has been on my bucket list for years so when Ben & Lex got in touch and told me all about their day at the gorgeous Barn On The Bay, I nearly bit their hand off to shoot it! On top of that the day sounded like the most chilled out and relaxed wedding ever, which is right up my street!
Lex & Ben both got ready at the Barn before their guests made the short walk over to ceremony area overlooking the Northumbrian Coast. We were blessed with blue skies and scorching heat as Lex arrived and walked down the aisle to meet Ben where their ceremony was delivered by a friend. Before the vows were exchanged, mist from the sea had swept over and covered the entire ceremony area in a thick fog which gave the images a very etherial vibe. I actually loved the mist for the portraits of Ben & Lex as it just let me focus on them and for two people who were shy in front of the camera, they absolutely smashed their portraits!
After some lawn games, food and speeches it was dancing time. I had been informed that the live band that would be playing, Mr Wilson’s Second Liners were a brass group that put a funky spin on 90’s dance tunes but good lord I was not prepared for much these guys were going to go off!
This was my first time over at Barn On The Bay and I can’t wait to get back! A massive congrats to Lex & Ben!
